We the People

Someone finally on your side of the table.

A public adjuster works for the policyholder — never the insurance company. Same claim, same policy — but now you have a fighter in your corner.

We work for you

Your insurer's adjuster is paid by your insurer. Brandon is retained by you, to represent you. He reads your policy on your behalf and holds the carrier to every word of it.

We document everything

Structure, contents, and additional living expenses — room by room, item by item. The loss a carrier under-counts is money you leave on the table.

We fight for fair

We file, substantiate, and negotiate your claim toward the full value your policy promises — and we show our work every step of the way.

What We Handle

Every claim. Every angle.

From the structure to what's inside it, from where you'll sleep tonight to keeping your business alive — the whole claim gets fought, not just part of it.

Residential Property

Fire, smoke, water, storm, wind, hail, and mold losses to your home. We rebuild the estimate the carrier under-scoped — room by room.

  • Water
  • Storm & Wind
  • Hail
  • Mold

Contents & Personal Property

Most people undervalue their belongings by half. We build an itemized, supported inventory list the carrier can't easily discount — like the $215,492 room-by-room inventory documented on a recent fire loss.

  • Room-by-Room Inventory
  • Replacement Cost
  • Depreciation Recovery

Housing & ALE

If your home isn't safe to live in, your policy may owe you a place to stay. We push to get you housed fast — and home faster.

  • Temporary Housing
  • Loss of Use
  • Displacement Costs

Commercial Claims

A commercial loss isn't just the building — it's the business. Property damage, business interruption, lost income, extra expense.

Contents Claims

What a contents claim really is

A contents claim is a room-by-room inventory list of everything you owned — each item's age, condition, and replacement cost, documented and proven. It's far more than any one person can rebuild alone after a loss, so we build it with you.

Housing & ALE

How housing vendors work

If your home isn't livable, your policy may owe you a place to stay. How temporary housing gets arranged — and billed the way your coverage understands.

Commercial

Commercial property coverage, explained

Business interruption, lost income, extra expense — the coverages most owners never read until a loss happens, and how we make sure they pay.

About American Recovery

One adjuster. Your whole claim.

American Recovery is a licensed public adjusting firm representing homeowners, property owners, and business owners across Texas, Florida, and South Carolina. We are retained by policyholders — never by carriers.

Brandon Hornick is the owner and the adjuster on every claim. He has fought hundreds of claims — most of them fires — and is licensed by the state to stand up for property owners. When you call, you get Brandon. Not a call center, not a case number, not a hand-off.

When a claim calls for it, he brings in trusted estimators, documentation specialists, and housing partners — and manages them so you never have to.

Questions

Answers, straight up.

What does a public adjuster cost?

Nothing up front. We work on contingency — a percentage of what we recover for you. If we don't recover anything, you owe nothing. The free claim review carries no obligation.

How is this different from the adjuster my insurance company sent?

The adjuster your carrier sends is paid by the carrier — their job is to settle the claim for the company. A public adjuster is licensed by the state to represent you, the policyholder. Same claim, opposite side of the table.

My claim was denied or underpaid. Can you still help?

Yes. Denials and lowball settlements are exactly where a public adjuster earns their keep. We re-open the file, re-document the loss, and challenge the carrier's position with evidence. Denied claims have been reversed and paid in full.

Where do you work?

American Recovery is based in Florida and licensed to represent policyholders in Texas, Florida, and South Carolina. If your loss is in another state, reach out anyway — we can often point you to someone trustworthy.

How fast should I contact you after a loss?

The sooner the better — ideally before you accept any offer or sign anything. Early documentation is the strongest documentation. We respond to new losses within one business day, usually faster.
